FACING THE SEA

WE HAVE TRIED TO BUILD A HOUSE BASED ON THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE PLACE WHERE IT IS LOCATED. IN ORDER TO DO THIS, THE HOUSE HAS BEEN BUILT THROUGH A RECTANGULAR BASE, FULLY ENCLOSED TO THE BACK, BUT COMPLETELY OPENED IN THE FRONT WITH A LARGE GLASS. THANKS TO THIS, THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE INNER SPACE AND THE TERRACE AND THE SEA VIEWS IS EXTENDED. THE UPPER ROOMS, EACH OF THEM WITH AN INDEPENDENT POLYGONAL VOLUME FACE THE OUTSTANDING SEA VIEWS. TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE SLOPE, THE BASEMENT AND THE BACK OF THE GROUND FLOOR ARE BURIED IN THE PLOT, THUS PROMOTING FURTHER INTEGRATION INTO THE EXISTING TOPOGRAPHY.

The starting point is a customized house by the client. Taking into account the existing conditions, we set out a house spatially organized according to the principles of functionality. With a section of three levels, we organized the functions taking into account factors like the privacy. Under the client’s request, in the basement we projected a large space for parking the vehicles, a soundproof room for music, a storeroom and a utility room for the cleaning and maintenance of the pool. Besides, this floor has a guest room with a bathroom and a dressing room with a direct access to the garden.

This house creates a diaphanous public space on the ground floor next to some premises that host the maintenance and storage uses. By contrast, the upper floor is aimed as a night area where all the bedrooms are linked to an outer space through large windows from which you can enjoy the outstanding views.
