LOCATION ONTINYENT (VALENCIA)

The plot where this project is located belonged to a bourgeoisie family in the heart of the city of Ontinyent. This area is characterized for being the commercial, banking and social center of the town, after it was expanded.

Placing this Cultural Centre in a historic location, revitalizing one of the last stately homes of the area is an example of the pride that Caixa Ontinyent has towards the heritage of the city. Besides, it shows their willingness to restore the local heritage.

The project consists of two large volumes that lead to a private courtyard with a garden facing the Clariano River. The main entrance to the building is through the main façade, which has a large hall with double and triple heights. It is a multifunctional hall that acts like a reception area, and a room for many purposes like exhibitions and performances. Its design creates different perspectives of the building facing different premises like the café, the offices, the board room, the exhibition hall, the stage, etc. Definitely, it is an opened and multifunctional building perfectly designed for different activities.

Therefore, the building has two significant elevations, on the one hand, a historic elevation and linked to the memory of all citizens who have walked through the main street of the city, and on the other hand, contemporary elevation facing the green with the Clariano River as a protagonist.
